Salesforce's Do.com Builds Out Productivity Ecosystem

"This is a very low-cost platform," said analyst Brad Shimmin about Do.com. "That's the way it is thanks to Google and a host of smaller players, including what was Yammer before the acquisition, to drive down the price....For companies that don't have the money to invest in on-premises resources, it's a very compelling use case."

Panasonic Toughbook® mobile computers are engineered to withstand drops, spills, dust and grime, and to perform in the harshest environments. Rugged reliability, low cost of ownership and accolades from reviewers are just a few of the reasons why Toughbook computers keep winning over the world's toughest users. Click here to learn more.

Do.com, a productivity app that aims to help people share tasks, projects and files with co-workers, is ramping up its third-party app options with a new platform that aims to help users, well, do more. The company says it's responding to some "pain points" customers have shared.

"You told us you have a wide variety of tools and data Relevant Products/Services you use to run your business every day, but those tools didn't let you seamlessly move between projects or automatically access data in real time across systems," the company said in a blog post. "You also told us that you want Do at the center of these tools so everything is connected to the Do productivity platform."

The Salesforce Relevant Products/Services subsidiary took the comments to heart by rolling out Do More: Do connecting an ecosystem of apps Relevant Products/Services workers already use every day to its productivity platform. Do More also offers the ability to access data in real-time across popular tools and apps to shift between projects more quickly. And there is still a free version.

Google, Dropbox Integration

What does this promise look like in reality? On the marketing front, Do More now makes it easier to engage with prospects and customers by aligning with Wufoo online forms. When prospects fill out Wufoo forms, they become actionable contacts, deals and tasks in Do.

Do also integrated with Contactually. Contactually automatically creates Do Contacts for people and prospects you interact with via e-mail. It also spins up reminders and Do tasks so you follow up with the right people at the right time. The idea is to help you close more deals.

By integrating both Drop Box and Google Drive into Do, users can now share content with one click. Meanwhile, Do Chat makes possible real-time collaboration Relevant Products/Services on projects, deals and tasks directly within Do.

A Harvest integration Relevant Products/Services makes time tracking easier. Just click on the stopwatch in a specific Do task to log your hours for a specific customer Relevant Products/Services. Salesforce is also linking one of its own internal properties to Do.com -- Desk.com, a cloud Relevant Products/Services service for small businesses. This integration makes it possible for the Do account to handle customer service issues. The app lets you escalate difficult support items as Do tasks for follow up. (continued...)

Great article! This news is especially exciting to me because Do.com's integration with Google Drive and Dropbox further validates the increasing market demand for enterprise collaboration tools. After reading this piece, I think you may be interested in learning a little more about the company I run, Teambox (https://teambox.com), a cloud collaboration platform provider. Much like Do.com, Teambox is helping transform productivity for global businesses with a single cloud-based platform that aggregates best-of-breed tools like Box, Dropbox, Google Drive and Gmail to enable users to seamlessly move between projects to get more done from any device anywhere. The only difference is, we've been doing this for over 18 months. In addition to file sharing, Teambox features include tasks, notes, conversations, group chat, calendaring and gantt charts. Teambox also integrates our API with numerous solutions so users are able to easily migrate apps they currently use into the Teambox platform. Do.com's news of their integration with Dropbox and Google Drive is great validation for the market strategy Teambox has been executing over the last 18 months. I hope you come check out our product (https://teambox.com) and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Best, Dan Schoenbaum, CEO of Teambox
